Hauling ticket checklist
Eight groups of information to review before a load reaches billing.
Read the guideKeep the material, source, destination, and load record together. Explore SHIFT for the dispatch and ticket handoffs behind aggregate and construction materials hauling.
Aggregate hauling software organizes the movement of materials between a quarry or yard and a delivery site. The record needs to identify the material and source as well as the truck and destination. That context helps the office reconcile what was assigned with what was delivered and documented.
A request for gravel can still be ambiguous. Record the agreed product description, size or specification where applicable, source location, job reference, and receiving site. Keep similar products from different sources distinguishable. This is an operating checklist for your team, not a claim that SHIFT replaces your inventory, estimating, or quarry scale software.
A number without a unit creates a review problem. Preserve the unit shown on the source record: tons, cubic yards, or another agreed measure. Weight and volume are different quantities. Do not convert between them using a universal factor; any conversion needs a material-specific basis and an agreed process.
The supplier identifies the material and pickup record. Dispatch assigns the hauling work. The driver connects pickup to delivery. The office reconciles the supporting ticket before billing. A useful demo should show your part of that chain and the handoffs you rely on, including any separate supplier or customer systems.
| Handoff | What to review |
|---|---|
| Material source | Which quarry, pit, or yard supplied this load? |
| Product | Which material description, size, or specification was agreed? |
| Quantity | What quantity and unit appear on the ticket? |
| Destination | Which project, job reference, and delivery site receive the material? |
SHIFT focuses on the hauling workflow. Confirm any scale-system connection, inventory requirement, estimating step, or external data exchange separately.
Bring your actual material names and load examples to the walkthrough. Confirm the records and operating steps required for each product.
Requirements vary by contract and agency. Compare the project specification with the proposed workflow before assuming acceptance or compliance.
